Dorries Blew Me Up

Sale price£280.00

A brutalist monument to Britain’s industrial past, the Dorman Long Tower stood like a concrete sentinel over Teesside. Built in the 1950s to serve the steelworks, it was both monstrous and magnificent — unapologetically functional, undeniably iconic.

On 19 September 2021, just days after gaining listed status, it was demolished — the order signed off by then Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries.

This cyanotype is my tribute: a memory pressed into Prussian blue.

Cyanotype on 100% cotton rag, 300 gsm.
